Description & Requirements
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Use Tax Manager.
Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare and review U.S. sales and use tax, property tax, and abandoned and unclaimed property tax for all business regions, including filing submissions and payment processing
- Process optimization on resales certificates and sales exemption certifications
- Experience with Sales and Use Tax and Indirect Tax strategies to ensure compliance and optimize tax efficiency across multiple jurisdictions
- Assist with indirect tax audits and manage sales tax notices
- Lead sales tax integration using Avalara and partner with third parties service providers
- Ensure all sale use tax accounts are reconciled
- Provide indirect tax advice to business partners, including researching the taxability of products, and services across different jurisdictions and business lines
- Assist with business licenses renewal, registration or deregistration
- Determine or identify state nexus thresholds
- Additional duties or special projects as assigned
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 5 + years of indirect (sales & use) tax compliance and consulting
- Licensed CPA preferred
- Avalara integration and implementation experience is a must
- Strong technical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines in a very fast-paced work environment
- This is an individual contributor, hands-on experience is required
- Physical Requirements: Ability to physically sit at a desk for long periods, operate a computer, and listen/speak clearly on the phone and in-person
- Ability to pass job-related employment screenings
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Transparency States as of March 2025: CA, CO, CT, HI, IL, MD, D.C, MA, MN, NY, RI, WA, OH
The pay range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000. This range represents what the company reasonably expects to pay an associate for this role based on current market data, internal equity, and other business factors. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations.
