Job Description

We are in search of a Category Manager to join our growing team. Category Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to manage the away from home towel and tissue B2B business.  Goals include maximizing profitability and gaining market share. This role involves analyzing market trends, customer behavior, and sales data to make informed decisions about product assortment, pricing, promotions, and supplier relationships. The Category Manager acts as the key link between marketing, sales, and procurement teams, ensuring that the category performs effectively and aligns with broader business goals. Success in this role requires a strong mix of analytical skills, relationship building and strategic thinking.

 

****This is a remote opportunity and can be located anywhere within the United States. 

 

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Develop and execute category strategies that align with business goals and meet the needs of our B2B customers.  
  • Monitor category performance though KPIs and reporting tools and take corrective action where needed to improve results.  
  • Analyze sales data, and industry trends to optimize product assortment and identify gaps. 
  • Build and manage relationships with key suppliers to secure favorable terms and ensure supply continuity. 
  • Oversee pricing/cost strategy and promotional plans to drive volume, margin and customer loyalty while staying competitive in the market.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing and procurement teams to support key initiatives and drive category growth.
  • Additional duties or special projects as assigned.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

 

  • A minimum of 5-8 Years of experience in category management (B2B preferred).  
  • Proven track record of managing product categories, including developing category strategies, optimizing assortments, and improving profitability.
  • Experience with supplier negotiations, cost management and contract development.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data-driven decision-making using tools such as Excel, SQL, or BI platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Finance and Supply chain teams.
  • Analytical Thinking – Comfortable interpreting data to identify trends, assess category performance, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Attention to Detail – Ensures accuracy in pricing, product information, reporting, and vendor communications.
  • Strong Communication Skills – Able to clearly present ideas and data to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Negotiation & Relationship Management – Builds and maintains productive supplier relationships while securing favorable terms.
  • Collaboration – Works effectively across cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset – Understands the needs of business buyers and makes decisions that enhance the customer experience.
  • Problem-Solving Ability – Resourceful and solution-oriented, especially when managing supply issues or category gaps.
  • Time Management – Capable of juggling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability – Open to change and able to shift gears quickly when priorities evolve.
  • Initiative & Ownership – Proactively identifies opportunities for category growth and takes accountability for results.
