Job Description

We are in search of a Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team. This role will manage and oversee logistics, order fulfillment and on-time delivery for all assigned distribution facilities. Be the primary point of contact for delivery issues and delivery requests including internal calls from company delivery drivers, sales or operations team members. Work closely with Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager to continually gain efficiencies that result in maximized utilization of labor and company resources, while delivering a great customer experience. Hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00am-5:30pm.

 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Master company routing software and ERP system as well as any future software programs adopted by the company.  Utilize these programs to build efficiencies, remove inefficiencies, gather and review metrics and report out on such.
  • Route all orders for truck runs for Highland Park DC and other assigned distribution facilities.
  • Use appropriate discretion regarding using FedEx, LTL, or delivering on company trucks.  Keep cost in mind, delivery commitments, distance driver must travel to make out of the way deliveries, etc.
  • Check all truck runs every day to make sure that open orders are being filled as quickly as possible.
  • Oversee all special orders and keep manager informed of the status.
  • Quick and efficient responses to all emails, phone calls, and voicemails.
  • Assist drivers as needed throughout the day with product or delivery questions. Make appropriate follow-up calls or emails to all involved parties when issues arise or deliveries will be impacted.
  • Keep Warehouse Manager or Operations Manager informed of any vehicle breakdowns or safety concerns.
  • Help develop maximized truck routes for all deliveries and company Transfers.
  • Be responsible for proper carrier utilization to ensure that the right resources are being used.
  • Oversee FedEx orders, LTL, and Ceva shipments. Schedule pickups if needed.
  • Assist in loading and unloading of trucks as needed.
  • Assist in putting product away and rotating stock as needed.
  • Assist with deliveries as needed.
  • Assist with returns and Will Call Pickups
  • Ensure all DOT and Hazmat requirements are being followed.
  • Attends and participates in meetings as requested.
  • Become fluent with all daily manifests, delivery tickets, RGA’s and all corresponding distribution paperwork.
  • Support Warehouse and Operations Manager with reports or data as needed.
  • Additional duties or special projects as assigned.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have: 

  • 3-5 years of experience in logistics, routing, and warehousing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; College degree a plus
  • Knowledge of Transportation portals and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) with ability to learn new systems  and train others 
  • Knowledge of DOT and safety compliance standards.
  • Ability to be flexible and work extended or adjusted hours to support workloads and to address urgent customer needs
  • Experience with and ability to operate and become certified to use Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
  • Intermediate experience with MS Office 
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving history. 
  • Ability to lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs and walk, climb, kneel, stoop, and balance frequently.
