POSITION OVERVIEW

The Junior Outside Sales Representative  is responsible for  supporting Senior Sales Representatives managing high-value accounts while actively developing their own customer base. This role involves extensive fieldwork, including in-person customer visits, sales presentations, and closing new business. This position gains hands-on experience in account development, outreach, and territory management, all while being mentored by top-performing sales professionals.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with senior sales reps to manage existing accounts, assist in strategy, and help deepen customer relationships.
  • Learn to hunt and develop new business by providing customers with consultative support and active communication
  • Prospect new business via cold calling, email, networking, and referrals, supporting territory expansion
  • Assist Sales team by targeting dormant leads and transforming leads into new accounts
  • Develop skills to manage a territory’s activity, development, and repeat sales
  • Generate sales through direct in-person visits to prospects and existing accounts
  • Negotiate and close sales agreements/contracts
  • Deliver compelling product/service presentations and demos
  • Identify new opportunities through cold outreach, referrals, and networking
  • Maintain and update CRM data, sales pipeline, and account activity reports
  • Additional duties or special projects as assigned.


EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in related sales or related experience, or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience.  Background in foodservice or janitorial supplies a plus.  
     If open to entry level, end with “…preferred, but open to entry level candidates.”
  • High School Diploma required, college degree in sales/marketing or business preferred
  • Retail, customer service, or sales experience strongly preferred
  • Familiar with CRMs
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly
  • Physical Requirements (must be included for all roles). Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
