We are in search of a Director of Equipment and Supply to join our growing team. The Director of Equipment and Supply plays a pivotal role in the strategic sales management and operational excellence of our organization within the Business Supplies and Equipment industry. This division leadership position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of equipment and supply sales, procurement, inventory management, and distribution processes. The director will work closely with various departments to develop and implement effective policies and procedures that ensure the seamless availability of necessary supplies while optimizing costs and efficiency. In addition, this role requires a deep understanding of market trends, supply chain dynamics, and relationship management with vendors and suppliers. The individual will be tasked with leading a team of professionals focused on not only maintaining inventory levels but also exploring new sourcing opportunities and fostering strong partnerships. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills to drive continuous improvement within the supply chain. Furthermore, this position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, with an emphasis on leveraging technology and data analytics to enhance operational performance and ensure the organization meets its strategic objectives. Successful candidates will have a track record of implementing innovative supply chain solutions that contribute to organizational growth and sustainability.
Responsibilities Include:
- Execute market-based growth strategies and support sales opportunities of the E/S sales staff.
- Drives the E/S segment strategy and assists in driving project related sales in all regional areas of opportunity.
- Aligns with the VP of Sales in a collaborative effort to drive sales through core supply business and other opportunity- based segments of business.
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities with key account manager to impact the profitability of the company through increased sales and increased margin performance.
- Develop, manage and direct E&S procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and equipment.
- Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a high-performing work environment, executing projects on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with vendors, sales, and category teams to ensure project success.
- Develop and implement strategic procurement initiatives for equipment and supplies.
- Manage the quoting team, ensuring bids are quoted accurately, competitively and in line with our margin goals.
- Oversee the bidding and design team initiatives, ensuring compliance with client requirements and company standards.
- Collaborate with shared services teams, ensuring cross collaboration and market trend awareness are handled proactively, mitigating potential risks and delays.
- Manage the support team, setting performance goals and objectives, removing barriers that detract from efficiencies.
- Monitor KPI’s and implement processes and procedures to improve performance in line with the E&S team goals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards in procurement practices.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within Foodservice Equipment and Smallwares, with at least [10] years of experience.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with various departments and affiliates of the business.
