We are in search of a Night Warehouse Lead to join our growing team. This role is responsible for is responsible for overseeing a team of night shift warehouse personnel and managing safety and warehousing procedures. This position receives, stores, selects and loads products within warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. A warehouse lead assists the warehouse manager or operations manager in directing the activities of warehouse personnel to ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assists warehouse manager with development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures; ensures all established policies and procedures are followed by warehouse team.
- Oversee warehouse activities performed by warehouse team; maintains a high degree of visibility and access to employees on the warehouse floor throughout the shift.
- Leads by example and trains, motivates, and coaches crew being supervised.
- Coordinates with the warehouse manager or operations manager to manage personnel issues and requests.
- Train new team members.
- Effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
- Attend and participate in safety meetings, working with safety coordinator on the implementation and training of safety policies and guidelines.
- Shrink wrap the pallet(s) of product. Load pallets into appropriate trucks utilizing pallet jacks.
- Receive and process warehouse stock products.
- Select and prepare customer orders in a manner that ensures complete fulfillment of each customer order.
- Ensure accurate receipt and documentation are included for inbound product.
- Affixes pallet tags and mark materials with other identifying information upon receipt.
- Convey products and materials from receiving areas to storage or other designated areas.
- Places items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined slot assignments.
- Rotate stock to enable the oldest stock to be most accessible for picking.
- Able to read pick tickets (or on-screen display, etc.), assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets.
- Load trailers with merchandise scheduled to be shipped.
- Strong inventory control skills.
- Knowledge of best warehouse practices and familiarity with modern warehouse practices and methods.
- Able to work on your feet for an 8-hour shift or more.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Record information as directed to track all activities.
- Perform tasks in a manner consistent with the zero errors policy of the company.
- Operate within applicable safety guidelines as per government regulations, the company's safety manuals and/or stated safety policies, and common sense.
- Ensure proper warehouse cleanliness is maintained at all times.
- Inspect equipment daily for proper operation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of warehouse experience required
- Previous leadership experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment: Forklift, order picker, electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack, hand truck and baler.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
- Push/pull up to 500lbs while utilizing a pallet jack.
- Repetitive standing and walking, bending, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
- Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
- Exposure to hot/cold as well as dusty conditions.
