Job Description

We are in search of a Class B CDL Delivery Driver to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for professional delivery to customers and other branch locations. 

 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Professional, safe, and courteous delivery of products to customer base.  Learn delivery routes. Ability to be flexible and understanding organizational/customer needs
  • Customer Service- At the customer locations, expectation is to professionally accommodate the customer which may include, but not limited to carrying heavy items up and downstairs, rotation of stock, returning items, filling orders, etc
  • Adhere to all CDL laws; always drive safely and courteously. Work with safety in mind each day.
  • Review and sign receipt, understanding and adherence to the procedures in the Driver Handbook, and any revisions to follow.  This includes but not limited to:  Work with safety in mind each and every day, daily completion of DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report), immediately reporting all incidents or accidents, reporting all driving infractions that occur on or off the job, pictures of deliveries, signatures on deliveries, return of product, lock trucks up nightly, keep the vehicle clean inside and out, responsible for equipment used to assist with delivers such as pallet jacks, two-wheel dollies, wheel chocks and other property on the truck.        Actively using Dispatch Track anywhere phone system and Samsara.
  • To communicate improvement on routes; issues or questions on orders with the Logistics Coordinator.
  • Accurately read and understand customer orders. Ability to logically build pallets with multiple customer orders on one pallet.
  • Ability to read and understand BOL’s, manifests, packing slips and HazMat summaries.
  • The ability to be accurate as well as efficient
  • Assist with maintaining and inspecting all warehouse material handling equipment to ensure equipment is always safe and operating optimally.
  • Complete Safety-OSHA-DOT-HR training prior to driving; and subsequent training within required timelines; keep safety in mind with all things you do.
  • Wear uniform, badge, and safety shoes at all times. Keep clean, neat, and professional; shirts tucked in. No hats, shirts, or jackets to be worn without company logo.
  • Assist with pulling orders, processing orders, loading trucks, putting products away and inventory control as needed.
  • Assist with warehouse, warehouse equipment and building maintenance as needed/scheduled.
  • Flexibility to work another shift if need arises.
  • Attend, participate and arrive on time to meetings when scheduled; Keep KSS and affiliate company’s business-related issues confidential; Miscellaneous assigned tasks and projects.
  • Responsible for timely responses and utilization of the communication tools available, such as voice mail, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Be ready to work at your scheduled start time. Adhere to cell phone policy when driving.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have: 

  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

 

  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: CDL with Class B w/Airbrake endorsement, valid medical card, current clearing house account, MHE Certification; clean driving record at all times.

 

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of related experience. 

 

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively and professionally before individual customers or employees of an organization.

 

  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

 

  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist. Ability to handle stress. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

  • TECHNOLOGY: Proficient use of computers used for data entry, email retrieval, training, and various other computer related tasks. Actively using Dispatch Track anywhere phone system, and Samsara or similar, when driving.

 

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stand and sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance as needed. Push and pull from 10-400 pounds, and operate auto scrubbers, vacuums, wet/dry vacs, extractors, sweepers, floor machines, and other janitorial cleaning equipment. (Approximate weight from 10 to 1000 pounds). May need to occasionally use ramp and push or pull automatic scrubbers or other equipment up the ramp, with assistance by other personnel Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

  • TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Forklift, reach trucks, dollies, platform truck, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, pull chains and other equipment associated with truck driving, straight truck and/or van and possible trailer for driving/delivery needs. Use of power tools such as drills and screwdrivers and other hand tools. Possible handling of batteries, chargers, motors, etc.  
  • Ability to pass job-related employment screenings.
