Job Description

 

The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization and reports directly to the Controller. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, supporting month-end close processes, reconciling accounts, and assisting with compliance and reporting requirements. The Staff Accountant collaborates with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency.

 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and general ledger transactions
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages
  • Analysis accounts payable and receivable transactions as needed
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and employee information
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software or ERP systems (S2K preferred)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
  • High level of integrity and ability to manage confidential information
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
