Job Description

We are in search of a Warehouse Associate/Relief Driver to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for  order pulling, receiving and storing products, freight and assisting with inventory control. Back up for deliveries as needed. 

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with preparation of orders delivered by BBC, for customer pickup, and orders shipping out via other carriers, and on BBC trucks.
  • Load BBC trucks for next day delivery.
  • Assist with unloading freight; stock of product; rotation of product and inventory control/cycle counting.
  • Assist with deliveries, when needed. Professional, safe and courteous delivery of products to customer base throughout the BBC sales territory when necessary. Adhere to all CDL laws. 
  • Customer Service- At the customer locations, the expectation is to professionally accommodate the customer which may include, but not limited to carrying heavy items up and downstairs, rotation of stock, returning items, filling orders, etc.
  • Cross train in various Warehouse activities/tasks.
  • All Safety/HR training must be completed within the timelines required.
  • Keeping BBC business related issues confidential to BBC as well as affiliate companies.   Embrace and promote programs adopted by BBC for development of company and team, including the company Mission, Vision and Core Values. 
  • Miscellaneous projects and tasks as needed.
  • Responsible for timely responses and utilization of the communication tools available. To arrive to work on time and ready to work; Attends, participates and arrives on time to meetings when scheduled.
  • Promote a positive attitude and work habits; Promote a safe work environment and safe work habits; Work with other team members in a positive manner.  
  • Additional duties or special projects as assigned.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have: 

  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

 

  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:   Forklift Certification; Clean driving record at all times, adherence to risk management program; Chauffeur’s license, valid medical card, and clean driving record at all times.

 

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to speak effectively and professionally before individual customers or employees of organization.

 

  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

 

  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.  The employee is occasionally required to stand and sit.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance as needed.  Push and pull from 10-400 pounds, and operate auto scrubbers, vacuums, wet/dry vacs, extractors, sweepers, floor machines, and other janitorial cleaning equipment and bar beverage equipment.  (Approximate weight from 10 to 1000 pounds).  May need to occasionally use ramp and push or pull automatic scrubbers or other equipment up the ramp, with assistance by other personnel Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

  • TECHNOLOGY: Proficient use of computers used for data entry, email retrieval, training, and various other computer related tasks. Actively using Dispatch Track anywhere phone system, and Samsara or similar, when driving.

 

  • TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:  Safety belt available, forklift, dollies, pallet jacks, platform truck, pull chains, blankets and other equipment associated with truck driving and delivery needs.  Possible use of power tools such as drills and screwdrivers and other hand tools.  Possible handling of batteries, chargers, motors and use of forklift.
