Job Description

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market share within an assigned territory by leading a high-performing sales team and managing key customer relationships. This role focuses on developing strategic sales plans, growing existing accounts, acquiring new business, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction in the packaging distribution market.

 

Responsibilities Include: 

Sales Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets
  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Account Executives and Sales Representatives
  • Set sales goals, monitor performance, and conduct regular pipeline and forecast reviews
  • Identify market trends, competitive activity, and growth opportunities within the region

Customer & Account Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key and strategic accounts
  • Partner with customers to understand packaging needs and deliver tailored solutions
  • Support complex or high-value negotiations and pricing strategies
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnerships

Business Development

  • Drive new customer acquisition and expand penetration within existing accounts
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to support lead generation efforts
  • Promote full product portfolio including corrugated packaging, protective packaging, custom solutions, and value-added services

Operational Collaboration

  • Work closely with procurement, operations, and logistics teams to ensure product availability and service excellence
  • Align sales activities with inventory, pricing, and margin goals
  • Address and resolve customer escalations promptly and professionally

Reporting & Analytics

  • Track and report sales performance, forecasts, and KPIs
  • Analyze sales data to optimize territory coverage and account prioritization
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and sales documentation

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–8+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in packaging distribution or related industrial markets
  • 2–5+ years of sales leadership or people management experience
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and margin targets
  • Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills
  • Experience working with CRM systems and sales analytics tools

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of corrugated, plastic, flexible, or protective packaging products
  • Experience managing multi-state or large geographic territories
  • Familiarity with supply chain, logistics, and distribution operations

Work Environment & Travel

  • Remote or hybrid role based within the assigned region
