Warehouse Manager
We are in search of a Warehouse Manager responsible for up to 40 Union employees during a shift. The night shift warehouse manager should be a leader who is energetic and promotes a positive atmosphere through recognition and praise. The night shift warehouse manager is responsible to hold associates accountable for their performance and able to coach them for success.
Responsibilities Include:
- Involved in developing and maintaining operational business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, production costs,
- and image.
- Establishes production standards, develops cost controls, and obtains data regarding type’s quantities, and specifications
- Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
- Reviews operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent
- operational delays.
- Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving
- production data for reports.
- Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
- Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and
- regulations.
- Participates in the disciplinary process according to Company policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Determines measures to be taken in such areas including but not limited to: picking errors, piece count discrepancies and pallet returns.
- Oversees the pick-and-load operation including determining book rotations and the periodic checking of skids and trucks to ensure accuracy
- of orders and materials.
- Checks trucks for proper loading procedures: ensuring that orders are stacked correctly in trucks; that the orders are packed tightly and
- efficiently.
- Receives merchandise from backhauls; follows through with employees to locate paperwork, checks and tallies materials and verifies counts
- on shipping documents.
- Ensures that all items received are tagged with the appropriate stickers, properly scanned into inventory and put way in appropriate locations.
- Works with the Company Safety Committee, attends meetings, investigates employee accidents, and assigns appropriate light duty per
- Worker’s Compensation Doctor’s orders when necessary.
- Communicates safety issues to the employees as well as the Committee and works to resolve them.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of night Warehouse operations.
- Performs other duties as directed by the Director of Operations Manager
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree and five years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
