Job Description

Receiving Clerk/Inbound Scheduler 

 

We are in search of a Receiving Clerk who coordinates and executes all inbound shipment activities, including scheduling carrier appointments, verifying incoming goods, and ensuring accurate system entry. This role serves as the bridge between suppliers, carriers, and warehouse operations to guarantee timely and accurate receipt of materials and products. 

 

Responsibilities Include:  

  • Schedule inbound freight deliveries with carriers, suppliers, and vendors in alignment with warehouse dock capacity.
  • Maintain the inbound appointment calendar to ensure efficient use of dock space and labor resources. 
  • Communicate with carriers and suppliers regarding appointment confirmations, delays, or reschedules. 
  • Monitor transportation performance to identify recurring delays or service issues. 
  • Verify accuracy of inbound documentation (purchase orders, bills of lading, packing slips).
  • Check inbound shipments for quantity, condition, and compliance with purchase order specifications.
  • Record receipts in Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP with accuracy and timeliness. 
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to align inbound schedule with staffing and space availability.
  • Work closely with Procurement and Inventory Control to resolve issues with orders or deliveries. 
  • Provide daily/weekly reporting on inbound performance metrics (on-time delivery, receiving accuracy, dock utilization).
  • Additional duties or special projects as assigned

 

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:  

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or scheduling roles preferred, but open to entry level candidates. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Knowledge of freight scheduling and dock operations preferred. 
  • Ability to physically sit at a desk for long periods, operate a computer, and listen/speak clearly on the phone and in-person. 
  • Ability to pass job-related employment screenings.
